ves: In a mechanical product development, Life cycle of POC is typically 3-4 months unlike what I have seen in software where it takes 2-3 weeks. As a company, we saw this as a big bottle neck. Instead of time consuming or capital-intensive strategies, we invested in 3D Printing. This helped to accelerate prototyping, get accurate form factor and in terms of return on investment, our POC cycle is now about 1.5 months, so a 50%-time savings. Also, design iterations happen quickly using this and a lot of rework is eliminated.
New Product Launch: We have launched Abhiwins Pvt Ltd, and as part of the new company, there is greater emphasis on Automatic range of products in areas of precision measurements. On couple of the products, we are in the final stages of R&D and expecting to launch in 2-3 months. In 2021, our focus is on tool sensors for various types of CNC Machines. The product portfolio will have basic and advanced versions, so customers have a choice to adopt technology based on set of criteria including affordability.
Technology innovations adopted: 3D printing is definitely an innovation we have adopted, apart from this, we are also looking at ways to optimise design, such that there can be reuse across our range of products. Wireless technology is another one we are working on. We are also working on developing in house software cycles for our products.
