This pandemic has taught us many things and made possible many functions which were being considered to execute impossible without office like purchase, sales, Accounts, product launch etc.
First thing we made everybody aware and educated them about personal hygiene, social distancing while working and commuting. First thing we implemented the contactless attendance with temperature sensing, staggered lunch timing to keep the safe distancing and serving lunch packets instead of serving with hands. In fact we had implemented Bar code readers for the goods movement couple of years back which helped us during this pandemic to minimize the physical contacts. We also conducted online ‘Product Launch -new Aerial CAM’ which received overwhelming response to our pleasant surprise. When we analyzed, we realized that during normal working the tool designers as well as assembly shop engineers just do not find time to attend any seminar or product launch due to work pressure. As such during this pandemic they had the time and were eager to know the developments taking place in the field. Therefore, more than 80 peoples from Tool making field across the cross section of industries. Not even that we started receiving the orders for those products.
We started conducting weekly, monthly meetings online. I must say Microsoft ‘TEAMS’ came very handy for this. We did implement new advanced ‘ERP’ system which is more user friendly with many additional features. Along with new ERP we also implemented Business analytical tools ‘Power BI’ which made Real time Business dynamics available on fingertips so as to redefine the marketing strategy, product strategy etc.
