Wohlhaupter India Pvt Ltd provides expert engineering, technical support and onsite application services within India for Wohlhaupter GmbH and Allied Machine and Engineering Corp., leading manufacturers of holemaking and finishing tooling systems for the manufacturing industry. The company announces the expansion of Wohlhaupter boring tools offered with the launch of the 464 (465) series of fine boring heads. These internally balanced fine boring heads include 3ETECH digital adjustment as well as analog vernier scale adjustment. One 3ETECH digital readout can be used on multiple adaptable 3ETECH  boring head tools including VarioBore, 537 (538) large diameter cassettes, 464 (465) fine boring heads and custom tooling solutions.

The new 464 (465) fine boring heads have a full diameter range of 50mm – 205mm (1.968” – 8.070”) with the lightweight aluminum Alu-Line boring heads ranging from 65.00mm – 205.00mm (2.559” – 8.070”). Featuring the standard Wohlhaupter MVS connection, these boring heads provide the capability to adapt to any machine.

As the VarioBore 3ETECH tools increased in popularity, the benefits of integrating this technology into other boring products became apparent. With the digital diameter adjustment located externally rather than internally, maximum coolant pressure can be utilized, and there is no concern about damaging digital components inside the tool during operation.

In high production settings like that of the aerospace, automotive and heavy equipment industries, the customer will only need one 3ETECH module for all adaptable heads, which reduces machining costs. With the internal self-balancing mechanism, the tool remains stable throughout the tooling process and achieves tight tolerances and optimal surface finishes. In industries such as these where precision is key, the 465 (464) fine boring head can be trusted to maintain the quality required.

“Wohlhaupter has redesigned its entire balanced fine boring product offering with the expansion of the proven 3ETECH to offer cost-effective tools with digital readout. The ability to use one digital readout module on the entire range of fine boring tools offers customers a digital solution at a lower cost and at no risk of damaging digital displays due to coolant, chips or other unknown forces. The 3ETECH module can be used for the entire range of fine boring tools such as VarioBore, 537 (538) cassettes, special step boring tools with more than one finish boring unit and now the 464 (465) balance series,” says Frank M. Wohlhaupter, managing partner.
